Brian is now available, as a Freelance Conductor, in the United Kingdom or abroad, and is in
popular demand throughout the year, especially from Lower Section Bands,
as a specialist in Contest Test Piece preparation.

Brian is a very experienced highly qualified professional musician living in Lancashire, England.
Over the past 30 years, he has amassed a wealth of experience as a performer, Conductor and Teacher, and
as such, has appeared in all the major Concert Halls in London, has performed on numerous broadcasts on BBC radio, and played
with many of the finest brass bands in the U.K. including the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick. Brian also played
Assistant Principal Cornet with the Aveley and Newham Band, and the Redbridge Band from London.
Brian was a very sought after freelance Trumpet and Cornet player. He played with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
and the Orchestra of the Golden Age, which is a period orchestra using natural baroque instruments.
He played with several Ad-Hoc Orchestras comprising of players from the Halle and The Liverpool Philharmonic
Orchestras.
More recently he worked in Bulgaria with the Varna Opera Orchestra and in the Netherlands with the Provenciale
Groningen Brass Band plus several other Dutch Brass Bands.
As a Conductor, Brian has directed numerous bands at all levels in both Concert and Contesting environments,
including British Open Championship contenders and has conducted several orchestras in and around London.
He worked between 2001 and 2007, as a peripatetic brass teacher for Lancashire County Council teaching over
100 students per week.
He has also served as a classroom music teacher in two secondary schools and is a specialist
trumpet tutor in a college of further education and served, for 6 years, as the cornet tutor for the Lancashire Schools Brass Band,
and the brass section tutor for the Lancashire Schools Symphony Orchestra.
Brian was the Principal Conductor of the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra between 2009 and 2011 when he decided to make
a return to freelance work.
Brian has gained a B.A. (Honours) Degree, a P.N.C.B. Performance Diploma and holds an A.N.C.M. Teaching Diploma.
